Day 13: Serving Religion vs. Serving Jesus If I read an entire book about my husband but never actually talk to him, could I truly say I know him? The answer is no. The same is true with Jesus. You can know about Him—you can memorize scripture, follow traditions, and be well-versed in religious practices—but that doesn’t mean you truly know Him. Jesus doesn’t want just your knowledge or your routine. He wants your heart. He wants relationship. Today, ask yourself: Am I in a healthy, growing relationship with Jesus? Am I serving religion, or am I truly serving Him? As we continue toward a consistent 20 minutes of daily prayer, let’s move beyond routine and press into relationship. Take time to talk to Him today, to really listen, and to know Him deeper.
